You can add YouTube videos to your course site by using the rich content editor in Assignments, Discussions, Pages, Quizzes, Announcements, or Syllabus.
Click Pages on the left-hand navigation or access the page from the Modules index.
Click 'Edit' in the top right-hand corner.

In Edit Page view, select Insert and then select the button that says Embed.

Open another browser window, find your YouTube video, and select Share beneath the YouTube video.

From the Share options, select Embed.

The embed code displays. Copy that code.
Return to the Canvas page that you're editing.

Paste the embed code in the space provided. Click Submit and then click Save in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and your YouTube video is now viewable in your Canvas course.
Don't forget to publish the page!
