How to use the reporting feature in Simple
Syllabus
Using the reports feature within
your Simple Syllabus Dashboard is an easy way
by which to gather specific syllabus
information within your department. If you aren't set up within Simple Syllabus to run these reports then reach out to elearningsupport@slcc.edu to request that.
Reporting Feature
To generate a report, log into your dashboard (https://slcc.simplesyllabus.com/), and navigate to the Reports dashboard. You can find that icon on the left side of
the page.
Document Status Report
The Reports dashboard displays a lot of information about the institution, as well as your specific department. It also allows you to generate and download reports that you can use to track syllabus adoption. That report is called the Document Status Report and you can find it by scrolling down.
There are many ways to customize this report. You can filter by term, subject, type of syllabus, etc. To choose your department, click Organization. Organization is the word Simple Syllabus uses for department, program, and sometimes even school.
You can customize the types of information the report generates as well. You can do this by choosing various column options such as Instructor Name, Term, Document Link, etc. If you choose Published, it will show you wish sections are published and which are not.
Once
you've selected your criteria, select the
generate button to generate the report. The
report criteria will generate below the report
options. You will then have the option to
"collect pdf" or generate a CSV
file.
Important Note: Section and enrollment data can sometimes be messy. You will see some sections that you know have been cancelled, pending, or reserved. You may have to compare this list to your own records as you determine which data are more relevant. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the accuracy of these reports.
Video Guide
Simple Syllabus has a collection of
videos showing you how to access and use every
function. Below is a link to a short video
showing you how to use the Document Status
Report.
