To have captions added to your videos in Canvas, you need to first make sure the video is in Kaltura ("My Media") in your Canvas course.

Once the video is in that location, email Clint Stoker (clint.stoker@slcc.edu) and be sure to include the following information in your request:

  • what course you are teaching,
  • what the video(s) title is that needs captioning, and
  • why you need it captioned (DRC student in the class, new standard video to be used department-wide, etc.)

If there is a legitimate need, the files will be sent off for captioning. Please plan ahead, as standard captioning takes four days to be uploaded. For additional information, see SLCC's Captioning website
