Course Description

introductory accounting principles. Interpret the financial statements.
Identify internal control procedures for cash.- Determine
the financial statement impacts of transactions involving inventories,
receivables, operational assets, debt, and equity.
Perform cost-volume-profit analyses for business decisions.
Use
relevant information to evaluate short-term and capital budgeting decisions. Create business budgets for forecasting decisions.

Homework
Practice Assignments exist to help you prepare for your homework assignments. You have unlimited attempts at these assignments and are
graded on accuracy.
Interim Exams
There are three module exams in the course. These exams are taken online and consist of a mixture of multiple-choice and workout problems. Exams
are not timed.
Module exams are open book and open note. Students are expected to take the exams independently.
Each exam can be taken twice.
If an exam is taken twice, only the higher score will count.
The final exam is a set of multiple-choice questions taken at the end of the semester. The exam
is comprehensive, meaning there are a few questions from each unit we covered.
Extra Credit Assignments
In each level, there is an assignment labeled Side Quest. For this assignment, take notes on the reading/videos/practice and upload for points. These are extra credit.
Optional Assignments
Big Ideas Quizzes are high-level quizzes covering
the most important ideas from each level. These quizzes do not impact your grade and can be taken an unlimited number of
times. Use these to help you prepare for the final exam, which will also focus
on big picture concepts.
This course fulfills the above requirement for the General Education Program at Salt Lake Community College. It is designed not only to teach the information and skills required by the discipline, but also
to develop vital workplace skills and to teach strategies and skills that can be used for life-long
learning.
General Education courses teach basic skills as well as broaden a student’s knowledge of a wide range of subjects. Education is much more than the acquisition of facts; it is being able to use information
in meaningful ways in order to
enrich one’s life.
While the subject of each course is important and useful, we become truly educated through making connections
of such varied information with the different methods of organizing human
experience that are practiced
by different disciplines. Therefore, this course, when combined with other General Education courses, will enable you to develop broader perspectives and
deeper understandings of your community

Academic Integrity

representations, or words of another person without customary and proper acknowledgment of that person’s
authorship is considered plagiarism.
Plagiarism is academic misconduct.
Faculty, program directors, associate deans, deans, and the provost for Academic Affairs are authorized to impose any one or a
combination of the following sanctions after finding a student responsible for acts of academic
misconduct. The possible sanctions include, but are not limited to:
- verbal warning and reprimand;
- restriction of privileges, such as access to lab
facilities, library facilities, or testing centers;
- failure of the exam, quiz, project or other assessment;
- failure for the course;
- withdrawal from the course; or
- withdrawal from the academic program
