Simple Syllabus (DSS1)

This training will cover the basics of creating a syllabus in the Simple Syllabus template, time-saving features, and the creative elements in the system.

Panorama Accessibility Basics (DPN1)

YuJa's Panorama is our newest tool used to check and improve course accessibility. It scans content for accessibility issues and simplifies the process of fixing them. Join us to discover how Panorama can help make your courses as accessible as possible.

The following sessions are taught by trainers at Class. Click “register” below to register directly with Class. In the registration form, select your preferred session from the Select date and time field.  

  • Class for Zoom 101 sessions (60 minutes) are available on most Mondays (register)
  • Class for Zoom 102 sessions (30 minutes) are available on most Tuesdays (register)
  • Class for Zoom 103 sessions (30 minutes) are available on most Wednesdays (register)
  • Class for Zoom 104 sessions (30 minutes) are available on most Thursdays (register)

Canvas User Credential Course (DCUC)

Course is always open (register anytime)

This course teaches the key features of Canvas. The course is self-paced, so you can complete this course as quickly you’d like. There are no on-campus meetings for this course. The course is taught asynchronously and fully online so you can experience what it’s like to be an online student. Adjunct faculty are compensated 12 hours for this course. Online Teacher Credential Course (DOTC)

Session: Monday, 1/27/25, to Monday, 3/10/24

Last Day to Register: Tuesday, 1/22/25

This course is required for all faculty who want to teach fully online courses at SLCC. There are no on-campus meetings for this course. The course is taught asynchronously and in a fully online cohort so you can experience what it’s like to be an online student and learn research-based best practices and expectations of being an online instructor at SLCC. The course runs for six weeks, with assignments due each week. Adjunct faculty are compensated 16 hours for this course. For more information, see FAQs about SLCC's Online Teacher Credential.

Livestream Teacher Credential Course (DLTC)

Session: Monday, 3/24/25, to Monday, 4/21/25

Last Day to Register: Tuesday, 3/18/25

This course is required for faculty who want to teach livestream courses at SLCC. There are no on-campus meetings for this course. The course is taught in a fully-online cohort that is both synchronous (live-streamed) and asynchronous so the participants can experience what it’s like to be a livestream student and learn research-based best practices and expectations of being an livestream instructor at SLCC. The course runs for five weeks, with assignments due each week. Adjunct faculty are compensated 12 hours for this course. 

PREREQUISITES: Before registering, you MUST already have competency in Canvas and Zoom, and you MUST have already completed the Online Teacher Credential course. For more information about the course, see FAQs about SLCC's Livestream Teacher Credential.
